Hello! Seems that everybody is a bit down on anyone learning to drive an automatic car. I am an older learner and just thought why put myself through learning more than necessary when all I want to do is get from A to B. You still need your wits about you to drive an automatic. Anyone else feel put down for only driving automatic??

although I passed when young on a manual car I have driven an automatic for over 25 years and would never go back to a manual, they are easier to drive especially when you are learning hill starts. Go for it.
An older friend of ours would never listen to our pleas of get an automatic until he found a new lady friend who had one, then he told the truth - he said I was always too mean to pay the extra to get one, but not any more.
You have what suits you best after all you are the one driving the car. Automatic wins hands down.
"Life is too short to change gear" - so much easier to drive an automatic - none of that 'clutch control' rubbish - go for it!
I hate gears, but automatics are too expensive on this island, so I do a Miss Daisy and drive around in first gear.
