i have a 1999 vw passat tdi now with an oil service light on start up, this appears on the trip mileage screen. I know is here because it needs a service, but ive done that now. any help would be appriciated.

Also about 2 months ago when 1st started up the climate control display lights up all the little lines on the lcd and flashes for about 30 secs, any idea why and how to stop this. again, thanks.

ps, id rather not go to vw if i can help it.

To reset the service indicator hold down the trip meter reset button as you start the engine. It should show no numbers, just the word 'service' on the display. When it disappears, the service indicator has been reset.

Works for Golf, Polo, Seat Leon and Ibiza so should work on a Passat.
