Ford Radio 'stuck' in code mode?!

hi,
i have a ford 2000 radio, recently had the battery changed and went to enter the code but it wont accept anything. no matter what button i press the display is stuck on 'code----'

the dashes do not change regardless of which button i press.

can anyone please help

do you not have to wait a certain time before it allows you to try again

hi please try this its worth a go anyway.
turn power off on stereo press and hold number 6 while turning power on, keep holding for 30secs then leave go, this should hopefully give you another chance at entering your code, good luck and merry xmas

i thought the wait time was only if you entered the code incorrectly three times.

the unit aint even letting me enter it once!
