I guess looks are a matter of personal taste, I think they look like a snail on wheels, but hey!, if you like them thats cool. Apparantly they are well built and equipped, and usefully cheaper than the equivalent Scenic. Remeber they only have five seats, and avoid the 1.6 petrol which is underpowered for the size of the car. The HDI 90 diesel is the one to go for. Citroens generally do not have a great reliability record, but I havnt heard anything about the Picasso in particular.
Just found some MPG figures, the 1.6 does 37.7 mpg, the 2.0 diesel returns an impressive 51.4.
I have had 4 Citroens (AX, ZX, Saxo 1.1, Saxo VTS) and found them all to be extremely reliable. I always had them serviced regularly at a Citroen main dealer, which may have helped.
