Renault anti-corrosion warranty, is it worth anything?

We have some small amounts of rust on our Scenic(1999) and a friend suggested that it may be under warranty still. What is the usual criteria that it will have to meet? I'm pretty sure they will find some way out of us being able to make a claim.

Does anyone have any experience of dealing with Renault with something like this?

Full service history, and (I believe) the car should have had an anti-corrosion insection at certain intervals by a Renault Dealer.

I have no doubt they will wiggle out of it

As long as the vehicle has been inspected for corrosion at the correct intervals and the book has been stamped to show this it is guaranteed for 12 years.
