Type-R alternative?

The preference would be for a Honda Civic Type-R, but with a 6,000 limit and a relatively anal fixation with not buying cars with more than 50,000 miles on the clock it seems unlikely that I will find one.

Does anyone know what are the closest alternatives that would suit the price and mileage criteria.

Thanks in advance.

have you tryed e bay, if you have and cant find any thing that comes close then there is one option left GET MORE MONEY or try a bit more higher milage

With only a 6000 budget you are not gonna get nowhere near Type R quality. The best I could offer you would be Renault Clio Sport 172. 172 BHP, very fast cars. Have you looked at insurance aswell a Type R is stupidly over priced.

Hondas are more or less bomb proof if serviced correctly so I don't know what the problem would be with a car over 50,000 miles......anyway...have you tried looking at integra type R's instead....?
i might have been a bit to harsh with the first answer . if you are looking for a fast car lowish milage and cheep ( under 5k ) you should try a jap import . with a import you could go for a higher millage car cos in japan you can't own a car unless you have a space to park so yhey tend to look after their cars , plus they don't rally them around like britons do . there was on at the import yard in bristol less than 50,000 miles v6 lower than 5k
