I liked this car when it first came out, but now I find is somewhat hairdressery. Anybody agree? It's right up there with Escort Convertibles, Vitaras with Carlos Fandango wheels and new Beetles.

I think that is true for the 180bhp version as it lacks the actual grunt to be anything other than a fashion statement, the full fat 225BHP version is more credible, although the modifications that audi carried out to 'improve' the handling robbed it of some of its driving pleasure, so that didnt help matters. Its biggest problem in my opinion is its cost, they are still pricey for what they are. However, I cant agree with you that they are in the same league as such motoring horrors as the escort convertible!

Losing their coolness now as most cars have come on leaps and bounds styling wise (e.g. the new Civic).

I found that I couldn't fit in one very well even though I'm 5' 7" inches as I have a long body and short legs the best seating position leaves me staring at the metal bit above the windscreen. Can fit perfectly in the new MR2 though...strange.

No, I found it hairdressery right from the start. Horrible looking and not very plesant to drive. As time goes on I have realised that it is essentially a car for those who masturbate far too much.
