Tighten the chain on a 1999 Yamaha R6

Anyone know how it's done. Just bought the bike and pretty much clueless when it comes to them.

Well I suppose all R6 are the same, so on the right hand side of the back wheel should be a large nut on the shaft which goes through the middle of the wheel, loosen it, then there is a small nut and bolt inside the frame on each side loosen the nut (furthest from the centre) , now you can turn the small bolt head (closest to the centre) anti-clockwise to tighten the chain, turn both sides the same and make sure that the distance from the frame end to the centre of the shaft is the same both sides (there should be a scale marked on the frame side) , the chain should have about 25mm slack top to bottom. tighten everything.

I've got one sitting on my desk now... just wanted something to be getting along with. Yep the R6 may be a bad move for a first bike but I've ridden before and have WAY too many points to be riding like an idiot
