Car Won't Start, But Rac Can't Find Anything Wrong

When I turn the engine on, it starts, then cuts out. This happens each time. RAC said he can't find anything wrong and I'll need to take it to a garage 🤷. I asked him if he thought it was worth it, but he said it's up to me if I want to spend money on a 17 yo old car. It'd need to be towed there.

I just wondered what anyone thought? I'm thinking of scrapping it.

I thought you'd sold that car and bought a new one?

Try red x .

You could try a mobile mechanic, there's plenty about

possibly faulty fuel pump. you haven't told us details of the car

Question Author

I kept it on, Prudie as I had loads left on the insurance.

It's a Citroen C1 cool.

Are you driving both cars then?

any warning lights on your dash or fault codes?

Question Author

Yes, DDIL and no warning lights 🤷

Question Author

What's red x?

you need a decent mechanic to have a look at it

Depends on the cover you have, don't breakdown people take your car to a garage if they can't fix it themselves.

Try the AA.

Thank you, Tuvok 🙂

So you didn't buy a new car?

Surely if you buy a new car you just transfer the insurance. That's what we do here, give the company the details of the new car and date and time when we get it and they switch the insurance over

^Us too.

That's what we do too , might cost an admin fee or as we pay monthly I have been known to cancel it if the change is too great.

Treacle, im pretty sure you told us you'd bought another car - two years old - and was worried about it being damaged by your neighbour's builders.
