Hi all

I've a service and MOT booked for next Wednesday at my local branch of ATS. It's booked for 0830. The problem is that the night before, I'll be 60 miles away in another town and I'll have to drive to ATS that morning.
Someone has pointed out that ATS won't be able to do an oil change and generally poke about etc on a car with a hot engine and has advised me to stay local overnight.
Is this really a problem for them or would they leave the car until the engine cooled down? I don't want to disrupt the schedule of the ATS guys but neither do I want to pick the car up at 1700! The car is a Dacia Sandero with an 898cc engine.

Thank you.

I'd ring the branch and ask their opinion...I suspect that if you get there at 8.15, they'll leave the car for a while before starting.
Any car which is driven to a garage will have a hot engine. It used to be recommended that you change engine oil when it's hot as it drains better.
^yes, but there's hot and too hot. By time they come to start, things will be OK.
What a load of tosh, hot engine. The oil runs out quicker with a hot engine for a start. Hot engine for mot another load of tosh, needs to be up to tem for emissions test.
Load of old pony, garages deal with this all the time. Just drive it there as planned.
