What kind of noise? Is it like a ticking noise? When I first got my corsa it used to make a noise like that when I put my foot on the clutch but after about a week it stopped. Can't see why going through a puddle would affect the clutch but I'm no car mechanic...good luck
Probably the release bearing has got a bit corroded and is not turning with only the light pressure on it and when you lift the pedal it stops touching the clutch plate, and so the noise stops. You can't usually get at this to lubricate it, so if it continues or gets worse it might need replacing some time soon.

The noise is from the thrust bearing - don't worry about it, it will probably go away and even if it doesn't it won't do any harm.
