The MOT test has changed a lot - is a damaged rear screen wiper blade a fail?

Many thanks

I don't think it's mentioned as a test item (many cars don't have one anyway). I think it would only be a fail if the damage could cause injury - e.g. sharp bits sticking out. But fix it anyway!

I've only just noticed it and car is booked in this afternoon. Thanks for the prompt reply
Worth nipping out quick and get a replacement. You will need a serviceable one in any case and if it is a failure ( I don't think it is) you lose a bit of money for the sake of an easy rectifiable problem.
Yep, I'd get it fixed if you can. Somewhere like Halfords.
No it's not a fail. My car had a bust one for two or three years and I never got around to fixing it. It was never mentioned.
@11.50 agree, no fail. just bear in mind winter is on its way.
I just took mine of when I noticed it was damaged and car passed.
My car went in for an MOT yesterday and I needed a new front blade as the rubber was flapping. It was also due a service but they couldn't fit that in the same day. I mentioned the wiper and asked if it could wait for the service or would it fail the MOT. I was told it would fail so they did the wiper with the MOT.
