My husband has been a member of GEM for many years, never had a problem, have used their break down pick up service several times, and though you have to pay upfront for the car to be taken home, the money was in my bank before the cheque had been cashed. Highly recommended.

Although I'm with the RAC at the moment (simply because I get a good deal through my car insurance), I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Autonational Rescue, from whom I've had good service in the past:

Thanks Chris. As it happens, their lowest price looks v.similar to Green Flag's (after having had a pop at them). I'll make a note.

Are you going by their renewal existing customer quote.My GF quotes gone up £18 for this year. Never had to call them last year. Think I might try a new customer application.

Our Green Flag wentup from £74 to £95. Mrs B complained, and they reduced it to £74.
