Some manufacturers can check if you have the reg no. I know BMW can.
If you know original main dealer that supplied vehicle, they may have some info.

I've been reading that some things are classed as modifications - things which I did not realise

I just wanted to check

I've got a ford focus Zetec 100 registered - 2010

It's got reversing sensor for parking

Rear fog lights

Immobiliser

Alarm

Air con

Alloy wheels

I need to know if all of the above were standard or optional specifications for the above vehicle

If they weren't standard or optional , then I'm assuming that if they were added after the car was bought new ; then they would be classed as modifications to the car
You can look here but you will need to add engine capacity and petrol ~ diesel. I selected 5 door top end.

I don't think that Parker's website lists all the specs

For example it lists the specs for across the focus range
Yet it does not mention in the specs , immobiliser or rear fog lamps for any of the focus models

Is the lists suppose to exhaustive ?

Are you asking in this question in relation to an insurance quote/declaration?

Yes
As you are probably aware, insurance companies will use any excuse not to pay out on a claim.

Not so long ago, the financial ombudsman castigated the insurance industry for claiming that fitting a roof-rack to a vehicle represented a modification – and therefore denied claims.

If a vehicle had been modified with any of the items you list, I would expect the financial ombudsman to find in your favour (if they tried to use it as an excuse).

However if you disabled an alarm/immobiliser, they might very well have a case for denying a claim for theft.

I bought the car second hand with all the items I've listed

But were they all on there when the car left the factory or were some of them added later
I don't know .

Some of them are listed as optional extras for my variant of the focus - some are not
The parking sensor is an example of one which is not listed
as an optional extra

So do I declare the parking sensor as a modification ?
Can you imagine an insurance claim that would be denied because the car had been fitted with reversing sensors, not declared as a modification?

Perhaps if some thief ripped out the sensors (and the insurance company knew they were a modification), they might have a valid reason to deny the claim.
Bazile if you care to look parkers will give all available specs available on a particular model and extras, no one will be able to tell you original equipment other than Ford or dealer that sold it.
