My garage does a free annual service if you use them regularly, so yes.
Question Author
Free? Oh my i'm paying just shy of £300
I sometimes need tyres or something, which obviously I have to pay for, but the service is free.
No, I got it serviced when the display indicated it's due (flexible servicing routine)....about every 18 to 20 months. Cost varied....cheapest service was £90, dearest £180 (franchised dealer).
Have just replaced with a new car which (I suspect) will cost a bit more.
spath - there are different levels of service.

A 'basic' one, the equivalent of 'plugs and points' doesn't cost much, so that's probably the one pix is getting for free.

Yours will be more involved, changing filters and fluids, and that sort of stuff - that's around what I just paid for that level of service.
And so is the oil, windscreen wash, water, air for tyres etc. There is no danger that I will do that myself.

Yep i'm going for the "full works" as i haven't serviced it since i got it.
Question Author
Is it worth spending that kind of money on a car to be serviced when i have no idea if they will come back to me with a problem?

I always worry when putting my car anywhere for work they'll find some stupidly expensive hidden surprise.
Wear lots of lipstick and take a tin of quality street x
Question Author
LOL i'l get my Ms to put it in
Question Author
do you think if i actually took a tin of choccies they would appreciate it and eat some? If the tin was sealed?
A-H....plugs and points? Cars haven't had "points" for many a decade...unless you're driving something from the sixties, or before.
'equivalent of', gingebee.

Hopefully that'll save a bit of space. :-)
I give my garage a tin at Christmas... They have rescued my car and towed it back many times and dropped me back home and never charged anything. Worth a try :-)
Last service/pre MOT cost me £595 but I needed calipers, pads and disks etc
Question Author
Yep.. worried i'm going to need some break discs -.-
Question Author
pixie i'll give it a try :) I hope it doesn't come across as weird

"I thought you guys would like some choices whilst you worked on my baby"
you could always ask them to spank you!
douglas...there isn't an equivalent of "points" (that need changing, adjusting, cleaning)....electronic ignitions don't require attention......and plugs usually are good for 25 to 30 thousand miles.
Minor services are now usually no more than oil and filter changes.
And....do we need to save space?
