I am taking my car for an MOT and service tomorrow. Do I need to take any documentation apart from the service booklet?

We have to take the log book and insurance certificate
Nope. Just your credit card.

What do I do now? :-) Take everything, just in case?
You only need the log book v5c if it’s the cars first MOT.

As ZM says, just the means to pay will suffice.
Log book? What century is this?
Nothing is required...not even the previous MOT certificate....
Doesn't the service book come in handy to record a service history for future buyers?
237... "service books" are a thing of the past. Most manufacturers don't provide them now...
Oh OK. I`ve never bothered with them (I just keep the receipts) but when my car had a 10,000 mile service the other week the garage told me they had "stamped the book" which must have been in the manufacturers info in the glove compartment

Thank you for that link, Baldric. It was useful to read that again.

I have a service book, Ginge.
Yes, Tilly, I have a service book too (car five years old) but the dealer doesn't stamp it now because the service history is recorded electronically.
So, what if the dealer isn't the garage that services the car? How would a potential buyer access service history if there was no paper record?
....because you have a print-out of the service performed and a matching invoice....just no rubber stamp in a little book.
Don't blame me, btw, that's just the way they're doing things now...
I`m not blaming anyone. That's the way I have been doing it for years :)
I just took my car for it's first MOT, & service the service book was stamped & paper MOT provided (main Ford dealer).

Hubby has just bought brand new Ford, and was provided with service book.
Ford obviously not moving with the times.....

...so, just my credit card then?
