Yes they'd slow me down. Not that I wouldn't slow down anyway but they'd make me more aware of my speed.

I don't see how they'd be dangerous. They probably don't look so realistic once up close.
What an ingenious piece of optical illusion! I think they would inevitably cause you to slow down as you approached them, initially. Then you might just get used to them after time. Slowing down when approaching a crossing has to be a good thing. Why do you think it could be dangerous, Naomi?

Even when you do get used to them they'll still remind you of your speed.
I think they would slow you down, but ClarionSt has a valid point, Drivers would be preoccupied looking at them. Also after a while you would become used to them and ignore them.

Tilly, I think they might cause anyone who, momentarily perhaps, hasn't got his/her mind entirely on the road to slam their brakes on.
I assume they were invented because drivers weren't slowing down at a normal crossing. Once people got used to the floating crossing they wouldn't slow down for that either.

I think most would as they are a reminder.
Don't we all slow down as we approach a zebra crossing? I do because people tend to just wander across them rather than stand and wait for the traffic to stop. Pavement cyclists think nothing of zooming across the crossing. Woosh!
The images in the link make me feel queasy.

I don't think they are a good idea.

If a passenger was admiring the scenery and turned to look out the front windscreen and scream at the driver, who was aware of was they were doing, it would make the driver, possibly, slam on the brakes.

(I'm not a good passenger)
I think if I came around a corner and saw that suddenly it would make me slam on the brakes.

I think they should use the 3D signs for road markings like arrows and road numbers when approaching roundabouts. You have to be almost on top of them to see which lane you need to be in sometimes. I live near the A38 and A39. It's hard to see which is which on the road. Luckily I know where I'm going.

Sorry, gone off topic a bit. Yes, I think the 3D crossings would slow me down
Probably make me stand on the brakes and wonder why some idiot has just smashed into the back of my car. Unless I was used to them, and then familiarity breeds contempt.
The most effective method of slowing cars down I saw on Crete; the residents simply dug a trench across the road, hit it too fast and your suspension is shot, but that's Greece for you.
Are you sure that, that wasn't just a normal state for a Greek road ?

Councils here try something similar but they build up rather than dig out.
OG, The effect of these trenches is that Greek taxi drivers, - who drive normally at Formula 1 speed, know exactly where they are, so you sit in the back of the taxi and without warning they slam on the brakes at the very last moment throwing you uncontrollably forwards, (there are no belts of course) you then feel a heavy bump and they then accelerate away as fast as possible, the G-force throwing you hard against the back of the seat !
pointless, a) you'd slow down/stop for a ZC anyway and b) the perspective can only be correct from one side of the road so from the other side they look wrong and possibly are dangerous. Another belter from the ministry of silly ideas
I'm with Alba, they make me feel a bit sick - but then I'm not a driver.
Yes , for the first time .

But you would not afterwards ( if ordinary looking crossings does not particularly , slow you down ) when you are aware of what they are
