I am applying for my driving licence, do i need to print a picture of myself on the special glossy printer paper or is it lawful to use normal paper.
if you know please inform me

IIRC I just asked them to use the one from my passport.
Passports can be renewed on-line and you may upload your picture file.
If you are applying for the first time,get it done properly at a reputable Photographer,the least thing wrong and it will be rejected,will only cost you £5-£10.Unless,as Old Geezer says, they already have a Passport Photo of yourself.
If you are supplying a physical photograph to accompany the application for a photocard driving licence it must conform to the same specifications as for a passport, which are (in part)...

"printed to a professional standard"
"in colour on plain white photographic paper"
