I have recently bought a BMW 3 Seires Compact (2004 Model, 5000 Miles), and have noticed a rattle coming from the rear of the car (passenger side). I have checked that everything is secure (ie seats located firmly, seatbelts not vibrating, loose tool kits, spare wheel etc etc.) to no avail. Does anyone with a similar car have any ideas how to solve this problem??

If you'd bought a real 3-Series you wouldn't have this problem.

Could be the wheel bearing or suspension arm.  Sometimes plastic fittings inside the car aren't as good a fit as they should be or aren't fitted properly.

It must still be under warranty. Find out what you have to do in order for the problem to manifest (ie road type, speed, gear etc) then book yourself a test run wth one of their guys. With some hatchbackts, the parcel shelf can rattle as the engine vibrates or labours when the ger is too high for the revs. Try changing down earlier or changin up later. If it is the shelf, then a couple of pieces of foam window insulation (buy a roll at a hardware store) under the support pins usually rectifies it.
