Totally stumped front window washers not working, take of the connection to the pump and the wipers work but when the connection is put back on, it only works occasionally.

You have me confused, Rossie. Is it the windscreen washers that don't work ?.
If so have you checked for blockages, ie the windscreen nozzles.

It seems there is an elect fault within the Stawk Rossie, when you remove the Wiper Stawk, try some WD40 Within the Connectors & retry.

I had a similar problem with a car a few years and the answer turned out to really simple ! I too checked everything and all appeared to be OK. But when I shut the bonnet and tried the washers, they didn't work.

I found out that the tubes connecting to the washer jets became squashed when I closed the boot lid down !
