take a photo asap of the machine along side of your mobiles date and time showing...it could work
As the others have said, go to the local authority website where you will find details of how to appeal. I did it a couple of weeks ago when the valid ticket blew off our dashboard. I took a photo of it and attached it to an email with a very polite plea. They let me off and cancelled the parking ticket.
Maydup, regards your ticket blowing off your Dash, although ours did not, I asked a park assistant in a car park in Blackburn years ago what would happen if ours did, he replied, can you prove it! & to a point, can you prove it did not I replied, he asked me in what way, I replied there is a possibility as there is no adhesive to hold the ticket in place & the draught from the door when closing could blow the ticket, It was stalemate, If I had been done, I would have fought this in court.
And you would have lost, TWR
TWR, what would your defence been when asked 'did you check your ticket was visible after securing your car?'

Newbie, I would appeal as you cannot be the only one to get caught out today. I cannot think of any tamper proof forms of evidence to support your appeal but there will almost certainly be others and the operators will be able to check when updates where made.
Regarding the ticket blowing off the dashboard, this happened to 'er indoors.

It was on the floor, so I sent a photocopy with the appeal and the excuse was accepted. The time on the ticket showed it was bought at the appropriate time.
Thank you Hop, Exactly.
In my town we're not charged for parking on a Sunday.
non council car parks charge 24/7 everywhere ive been
I recently saw a photo on twitter of a dashboard covered with payment tickets and a sign saying 'Have fun'
Little things like that make my day
