My windscreen wiper (rear) is doing my head in. I try not to use it as once I start it I can't stop it. Read the hand book to no avail. Does anyone know how to stop it other than turning the engine off..... Please.

Press the stalk away from you to do one squirty rear wash/wipe. Press it away from you a bit more until it clicks and the read wiper is now on. Pull the stalk towards you one click to turn off the rear wiper.

Just flick the switch on and then straight off again if you only want to let it do a single wipe, Jeza.
There are a couple of possibilities here

Either the swich is faulty (I suspect that is unlikely) or the relay perhaps or the switch inside the actual motor

there's discussion about the relay here:

http://www.allcorsa.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/rear-wiper-relay-52636.html?s=9a3e5ac9beb340a2b6e87743a0812815&

Not sure if it's the same as yours - I'd probaly replace that first as it's going to be the cheapest probably less than a tenner

Other than that perhaps the switch internal to the wiper motor is becoming magnetised in which case

There are second hand ones on ebay too

I have another possible cause, it once happened to me and what had happened is;-
When the hatchback is open, look near to the catch, you will see some electrical connectors which make contact with similar ones on the hatchback itself.
I had something stopping these making contact and once it had been removed I had no further trouble.
Worth a look!
