58 Plate Astra Sxi 1.6 Won't Start, Has No Ignition?

I have a problem with my Astra it's a 58 plate 1.6 SXI. For some reason you put the key in and turn and nothing happens other than the headlights coming on. We have checked all the mother boards and all fuses are fine and dandy. We have run an electrics test and all it's coming up with is a Canbus fault? Can anybody help me with this as to what we can do to get it working again?? Vauxhall haven't been very helpful to be honest... We put a new battery on everytime we try to fiddle with it but we get no response...
