Hi
Can anyone give me advice on selling a motorbike on ebay. If I am not happy with the auction price, am I obliged to sell it to the top bidder. I've put a reserve on it.
thanks

But if you have put a reserve on which is 'too low' then that is entirely your own decision. If the bidding gets over the reserve then you are committed to sell to the top bidder.

You are only obliged to sell it if it reaches it's reserve price, otherwise it will not sell.

You are not obliged to sell it if it does not reach the reserved price!
But if you have put a reserve on which is 'too low' then that is entirely your own decision.

If the bidding gets over the reserve then you are committed to sell to the top bidder.

yes sunny-dave, that is what i was wondering. someone has asked to come and see it, so i dont know if we'd be better to let them come and look at it and see if we can agree a cash price before the auction or whether to let the auction run its course.
Yes do that, it's a very common strategy on ebay although technically against their rules.xx
Having set your reserve, you need to honour it. It's only fair.

how about if someone comes and looks at it before the auction and offers me a cash price i'm happy with? can i cancel the auction before it starts?
thanks all for comments
cheers
yes you can cancel auction before it ends, have you said in the listing that you may remove it as you are advertising it elsewhere?.
Yes you can cancel the listing up to 12 hours before it ends. Later than that and you'll have to simply cancel bids on it.
