Surely the best thing to do is contact your nearest Vauxhall dealership.

Recently my Astras key stopped working i.e. it wouldnt work the remote locking.  I called the dealership and they told me to put the key in the ignition, turn it until all lights are on dashboard, then operate the door lock and then unlock, remove key, get out, shut door and abracadabra the remote locking started working!!! LOL

Worth a try!

if you remove the old chip from inside the old key you can fit in the new chip inside. failing that as mrs_pegasus say you'll have to take it to a dealership.
There is a man on our market that reprogrammes keys. I bought a vectra key and took it to him (on the advice of my local vauxhall spare, because they wanted 90.00 to do it) he did it for 20.00
