Here are the results of an experiment I recently carried out with V-Power over ordinary diesel, using 6 tankfulls of diesel, 3 ordinary and 3 V-Power:

Ordinary diesel, 1777.7 miles on 158 litres/34.76 gallons, a consumption of 51.14 mpg.

V-Power diesel, 1757.5 miles on 154.95 litres/34.1 gallons, a consumption of 51.56 mpg.

Driving conditions were pretty similar on all 6 tankfulls. I considered that I needed to get an increase in consumption to 54.2 to break even. What I haven't taken into consiteration though, is V-Power better for the engine in the long run?

I doubt it. You can run a diesel car on used cooking oil and still get well over a quarter of a million miles out of the engine.
Your results pretty much echo the ones I had when I tried it.
