camshaft sensor (exhaust???? have you got something wrong here Top?
Normally it's the Lamda sensor that fits in the exhaust.
It would explain the misfire if they've fitted a cam sensor in place of the lamda sensor though :)
Question Author
as in the exhaust side instead of the inlet
Question Author
haha not on the exhaust this is the one replaced http://www.google.ie/...OI3HtAa098z5Cw&zoom=1
haha, not enough information in the OP. I suggest you put the faulty one back in if there was no misfire before.
Question Author
i will be putting old one back in, but why is there a misfire with the new one in, i just don't get it
Top, don't be a tight @rse bye a new one & do it right, there is every chance the one you have mabey faulty.
Question Author
the one i have in it is a brand new one, haha
Question Author
that's the problem, why is it worse than the one that was in it before
Faulty, take it back to where you bought it, hows the car going apart from this? are you pleased with it?
Question Author
apart from that, it's fine, in fact i wouldn't have thought twice about the sensor only that the po340 code showed up and the chap in the garage said that was the sensor, but what are the chances he is wrong and it's the inlet sensor, the car reving sounds a bit rough, but overall im happy with it
Every 2nd>>3 fuel fill up I put in a bottle of Petrol Injector cleaner made by REDX top, try using some on your car, I've this car of mine 4 years & the C.O. is spot on, have you serviced the car Fully? if you want to prolong the life of the car start by going through it fully, it's worth it.
To add, there is a sensor at the rear of the exhaust, just near the to the rear silencer.
Question Author
ye, i might start using that again, what does the sensor at the back of the exhaust do, i have noticed a lack in my cars performance, with hints of it wanting to be at its best, i will bring back that sensor as soon as i can get it out, but say the cam sensor i have in it is in good condition, could that mean that there is a problem with the inlet that is showing up now because i have a new sensor if that makes sense
The rear does near enough the same, the front sensor could be a Badsd to get out so be warned, if possible heat the sensor up and turn solwly to remove. has the plugs / all filters been changed? including the fuel filter under the passenger side of the car?
Question Author
the sensor i is on the front of the engine facing the front of the bonnet, there doesnt seem to be a fault code for any sensor on the exhaust pipe, but it said cylinder 4 and 5 are misfiring
Check the leads are fully connected, are the plugs new?
Question Author
the plugs are new, there seems to be a leak in the crank breather so i think that might be causing a few problems
