Exchanging Paper to Photocard driving licence

Do you have to pay a fee to renew a photocard licence (they expire every 10 years) ? I have a paper licence and have no plans to change address, so I'm not sure if it's worth me exchanging for a photocard - are there any benefits? Any opinions would be helpful, thanks.

The cost for an exchange is �19, this includes a photo card licence and a slip of paper that goes with it (why they couldn't store info on the card itself I never know!)

Personally I've kept my old paper one.

I have no desire to sit for 3 photos in a booth and then have them scanned and stretched out of shape on a photocard licence and have the words DVLA emblazoned across my (nearly un-recognisable!) face, ha ha.
