Do all of the vehicle details have to be correct for the ticket to be valid?

This one has the van colour listed as white but it's not. It's silver.

Is it an urban myth that the wrong colour invalidates the ticket?

They usually take photos now...
I would assume so. What would stop you from spray painting the vehicle if you felt strongly enough about the ticket.
depends who you get the ticket from also. local authority -pay up. private cowboys....ignore them and don't give your details.

Straight from Canterbury council. Looking online now to see if they have any pictures there.

Not sure why'd you spend a fotune respraying the van instead of just coughing up £50 for the ticket. You'd have to have a real chip on your shoulder.
Cutting nose off to spite your face.

You'd be surprised at what some people get up to just to prove a point.
Evian the details on a PCN have to be correct, however if all the other details are correct, you don't have much chance on colour in this case they would argue that it interpretation especialy if English isn't the attendants 1st language. If how ever they had put Pink you could argue it was wrong.
If you catch the warden in between placing the ticket on your vehicle and taking the picture to show number plate and ticket in place, stand in front of the car and they are not allowed to take your pic. What happens after that, I haven't got a clue
Surely the warden will just wait until you move?

Think I'll just have to pay up. Not sure why we pay though, should deduct it from their pay packets.

Dicky, the lads here have tried everything bar running over the warden and burying him in the woods on the way home. If they want you to have the ticket they'll make sure you get it. Usually in the post a few weeks later without the choice of paying a reduced amount.
The last ticket I got I got let off :-)
So did my wife. They gave her a ticket while she was attending a hospital appointment. She appelaed and they let her off.

I always try and find a way to get off if I can and normally if I do appeal they get cancelled but I need to have a good reason.

Had one last week where our guy paid by text and typed the wrong reg plate in. Got a letter this morning to say they cancelled that fine. Shame it was followed by a new ticket from another council.
Far be it from me to encourage 'errors' when paying, but try paying by cheque, and forget to sign it. If they return it, send another, signed, but without a date. It may just get lost in the system, and not come back - worth a try.

Keep copies of your cheques and letters in case they try and sue for the late payment.
Seems Westminster upset others

I might do that if it were my own Andy but I think I might aswell just pay it. (just realised I can pay the reduced of £25 still). Plus it gives me an excuse to have a pop at one of the lads.

Westminster are our arch enemies. In all other London boroughs they allow a bit of leniency but not Westminster. Their like hawks!

*They're
why on earth does the company pay?

here its the drivers responsibilty to pay all fines, and if we have to pay it then we deductt he amount of the fine and a £25 admin fee from their wages!
Question Author
Because the bosses are too soft.

Plus it's often them getting the tickets.
you would be very lucky to have the ticket invalid because the warden got the colour wrong
What looks white to one can look silver to another
Dark blue can look black, and vice versa
Try appealling anyway - you are allowed to stop to unload on double yellows
