Help Identifying Car Model

Hiya, I need help to try and work out what model a car is.

I'll try and be as detailed as I can but forgive me if I'm being a bit thick. It's a Rover (probably N reg I think and I don't think this model was produced for very long). I've tried googling and the nearest model I can come up with is a 400 but the car I am thinking of is a lot longer than the 400. The back end sticks out further with a pop up boot. I know it's engine size is about 2.5l. I don't think it was ever a particularly common car.

Sorry I know this is really vague but if anyone can come up with it I'll be very grateful!

Could be a 800 series ( theyre quite big), Rover didn't make many series of cars at that time.
