Get into the back seat behind the passenger seat. At the base of the passenger seats runners, there are two small clips , one on each side of the seats bracket (near the floor). If you pull up the levers, the front passenger seat tilts forward revealing the battery hatch. Unclip the plastic catch on the cover and the battery is inside! It is possible to jump start another car from here. However if the car is dead and the power to the control unit has been interrupted you may have further difficulties.

thanks richard " power to control panel has been interupted" ? what do you mean by that ? the car is totally dead, after a couple guys tried a push i got nothing, zilch, no lights or even a kick off engine, maybe i should go buy a new battery in halfords even before i go to start car ? what do you think ? is battery compartment hard to get into and put jump leads onto ?

THANKS
You can start the car with jump leads under the bonnet. You will see two + signs. Attach red to one of them and the black has to be earthed by clipping onto any metal part of car. DO NOT ATTACH BOTH JUMP LEADS TO BOTH + TERMINALS.

thanks mummsie but i had a look under bonnet and for the life of me i couldnt find anything that looked like a terminal ......where is this terminal located excatly ? thanks again.
I have a picasso and I have jump started it a couple of times. The two + terminals are (on mine) about half way back, right of centre, just two + signs, and if you look closely , you can see the battery lead going back and under the dash, leading then under the front passenger seat. Hope this helps, you can also google picasso bettery terminals and it will show you where they are.
Before you go any further get a garage out to sort it as you have absolutely no idea what to do!

You could easily fry your cars electrics ,start a fire or injure yourself.
Thnakfuly neve had to do mine so only know the theory not the practice. The terminal location are just behind the air filter.
goldenbolls, look at chucks link, it shows you exactly where they are.

thanks for your help guys, problem is now sorted, just an update on what i done, i called AA breakdown but they quoted me £160 for the year so i called a local breakdown company they were ready to come out and fix battery for £60, i hoped on the bus £1.70p and went to car with all the info that i got off answerbank especially chuckfickens picture to see where the terminals were located, i allready had jump leads so i stopped and asked a guy for a jump, 5 minutes later car is up and running and battery is now charged !!! great...just saved a lot of money. moral of the story is dont leave lights on again !!! ;-)
Hi there. Thanks for all the useful links. However, I think its good that people learn and try to do things themselves. Its not bloody obvious what to do on the Citroen Picasso. Most cars you clip negative and positive and the battery is in an obvious position. Bloody Citroen's. Anyone ever had to tackle the gas ball suspension system with all its potential to piss hydraulic fluid everywhere? Aaaaagh.
