Is My car Insured or Not?

My car insurance renewal date is 16th July. I received a renewal notice from Direct Line (I've been with them for 5 years) and as ususal it said that if I wanted to renew, do nothing, as they take the money direct from my bank account via direct debit. Around 20th July I received my certificate of insurance through the post.
Just checking my bank statement this morning and discovered they have not taken the money.
I intend to ring them tomorrow, but in the meantime, am I insured or not?

Phone them now to see what is going on.
Better to be safe than sorry.
I'd say so, if you have the certificate of insurance in your hand - perhaps they are a bit slow in gathering the first premium (but I can't see why, if it's a rolling direct debit). You could try ringing them today, they are open until 5pm http://www.directline.com/home/page03.htm
mrs o make a note of who you speak to and the date and time

rocky - what a brilliant site! I checked, and yes I am shown as insured. Thanks xx
WOW, Thats clever. Had to have a go myself to check it out. Very good.
It's good isn't it, saves a phone call.
I bet they will get the money off you at some time.
You are very silly if you don't shop around each year for the cheapest car insurance.Being loyal to one company is not reciprocated by the insurance companies and they will inevitably put your premiums up if you do not challenge them.
bought new car yesterday just checked out of curiosity and yes its insured brill link ta
i would think that if you have the certificate then you are legally covered! phone tomorrow and pay though? xx
I saved £170 through Compare the Market on the renewal premium quoted by the same company!
