I guy at work reckons he was going so fast in his car once that he took off going over a hump-back bridge & cleared the car coming the other way, on landing pushing his suspension top mounts through the wings. This was also with 4 people in the car.

I have no doubt that this is a bit of a jackanory tale on his part as he is prone to, let's say, 'embellish' the truth a bit. Was just wondering if it were possible what sort of speeds & trajectories would we be talking about.

i would imagine in perfect circumstances such as right angles, small enough cars involved, speed etc etc, it may be possible - highly unlikely and unlikely you would try it, and itd wreck your car, but maybe ask this in science or technology, they may be able to calculate it etc

A pal of mine took off on a hump back bridge years ago in his Talbot Horizon, trying to race a Cortina. Completely knackered the suspension and steering rack, writing the car off. You see rally cars take off all the time but their steering & suspension is tough enough to take that abuse, and is replaced fairly regularly due to the abuse it gets.

Lets just say this guy at work knows how to tell a very tall story, he would of wrecked his car, the added weight of 4 passengers would of made this completely impossible, unless his car HAD suddenly sprouted wings. he would more than likely have landed on the other car killing the occupants of that car and his car, what was his car made of?..paper????
