What are the most economical mpg Astra/Corsa sized cars that one could pick up for about 4 or 5000? 4 seaters and a reasonable boot required.

so far Ive considered
1.3CDTi Corsa Eco
1.7 CDTi Astra
1.4 TD fiesta

These are just over 62mg combined according to autotrader. But mine is supposed to give 51 combined but I get 40. (VW Bora TDI)

Thanks

Any car is economical Avatar, it depends on your right foot! if a car is serviced well, tyres are to their right pressure, no roof bars etc, I would go for the Vaux Cors, As said to a lot of people on here by myself & others, if you are not well up on the Mech of a car take someone with you, £4>>5000 is a lot of money to anyone but you can soon loose it without first checking the car out.
VW bluemotion. Better quality and cheap on fuel.

Ah fair enough, I'll get 4.8 litre V8 range rover then. Cool thanks.

VW golf Bluemotion would be my choice but not 4000 or 5000 though are they.
Have you looked at the Aygo, that's supposed to be economcal, your driving style does affect the mpg
My friend has an Aygo and it would definately be worth adding to your list.
My sister has an Aygo and loves it..............
