Hi All,
Had some advice from this site about violent brake shudder (at high speed mainly,) but also at slower speeds when brakes were hot. I took the advice and changed the front brake discs and pads. got the lot ( both sides, discs and pads) from an ebay seller for £56.( good make, not unheard of import) changing them was a piece of cake, an hour at most and what a difference. the car has done 130k, so the original discs were well worn. best £56 i ever spent. now when you brake, its a lovely smooth slow down, not all shaking and judder, like a new car. nice to be able to get advice from people who had similar problems, I expect garages check these sort of sites to help them do a diagnosis.
Thanks to all,
Alf.

Run those discs in .. cheaper brands can manifest in warping a bit longer-term than you had fitted..
