HGV Braking system

Could someone tell me what could make a HGVs brakes stop working?
Also, is there a known fault with a cruise control that fails to switch off?
Both these questions are connected.

Panic Button

Usually if an HGVs brakes develop a fault they lock on.

Do you have a problem with a tractor unit? trailer or rigid?

A fully loaded 18 tonne rigid

rnchugg

1st check the load sensing valve,
2nd bleed the brakes
3rd (stupid as it sounds) check for air leaks)
4th check the cruise control relay
otherwise sounds like engine management system!
