My past two company cars have been a ford focus, (5 door, diesel 2.0 litre) i am looking at getting a new car and wondered what other options would be out there.

i do a fair amount of miles so fuel economy and driving comfort are important, i guess it will be along the golf/a3 type of car, any suggestions.

oh and i don't want to be paying too much tax a year on the car.

a3 2.0 tdi. i have 1 , had it 2 years and no probs at all. done loads of miles since i had it to. motorway i get 60-68mpg. on the road round the streets i get around 50-55. tax is 120 per year. very spacy inside and quiet being diesel. only prob is, due to having near 140bhp they do use a lil bit of oil. i top up roughly every 2 months.
