Seicento power steering fault.

Hi . i have a seicento with power steering. It was working fine until I drove through a big puddle of water. It is now working intermittently and is starting to stick. Everytime it stops I can hear a clicking sound under the dash as though there is a switch going on and off. Any ideas?
prev fiat doblo won't start.

As the power steering is worked by an electric motor the water has affected it.
