Wipers won`t stop

Went to my Mreg Sunny 1.4LX after it had been in sun for half-hour and the windscreen wipers started going as soon as I turned ignition on. Could just not get them to stop in any of the switch positions and had to remove fuse as temporary measure. Anyone heard of this? or any ideas?
