Power Steering Problem

I have a 95/96 vauxhall cavalier. When i tried to turn the steering wheel today, there was no power steering at all.

When i looked under the car, there was a pool of fluid which i presumed to be ps fluid. I checked the reservoir and as only a couple of inches of fluid were missing, i topped it up, stupidly hoping this would cure the problem. Needless to say, it didn't and i still have no power steering.

Can anybody please advise me what is likely to have broken and what the approximate repair costs might be?

Thanking you in anticipation.

it could be a number of things,a leaky pipe,a seal, pump failure, get it checked out at a garage and get a quote first, then phone around for your best price.
