My father has the above car and is trading it in this week. The car dealer (not Renault) asked him if he could sort out the airbag light - which is on permanently (not flashing) It's been on for as long as I remember him having the car. I've checked under the front seats for the the seatbelt pretensioners - I found three connectors per seat , undid them, cleaned them out and reconnected them but the light didn't go off.

Is there a way of resetting the light without going to a Renault dealer as I remember on an old Mondeo I had you could do it by pressing various buttons and turning the ign on and off in a set way.

As always any answers or suggestions are appreciated.

Many Thanks

This may be a safety issue but is not an MOT failure so I s'pose one could but wouldn't endorse removing the bulb.Ask the dealer why thy expect you to fix it most dealrs accept faults on trade ins

I think they're wanting him to do it in case there's a costly issue involved. they've had it MOT'd every year and no-ones commented on it.
It's possibly down to the cables beneath the seat either on driver or passenger side. Something to do with the seatbelt pretensioners.
