Re: City Rover (7 months old, bought from new at Motorpoint). 12 month platinum Warranty bought from Olympic Warranties.
Last week smoke started pouring into car from steering column. Geen Flag were called & couldnt fix it, said small wire (near lights) caused fault. They transported to local garage next day after I had called Olympic Warranties who in turn agreed to speak to garage owner after inspection. Upon inspection it was found that other wires (in the loom?) had been affected & obvious manufacturing defects were visible on inspection.
Olympic wouldnt pay for 350 to put fault right--said wiring wasnt covered. No Rover/Tata manufacturers guarantee due to Rover situation. Only 3 months given as standard from Motorpoint.
Olympic (after threatening legal action) offered 200 goodwill, but I asked them to put where in policy its excluded in writing).
As I am 150 down & knowing nothing myself about cars/repairs I would appreciate any guidance/comments please.

They're trying it on here. get a solicitor who will represent you and is able to claim fees from the warranty insurers on success. It may also be a case of mis-sold warranty too!
