just brought an astra off an elderly gent,he has looked after it very well, its a minter, only 55k from new (1997),and has always had it fully serviced by main dealer, but dont think he has had cam belt changed,is there a specific milage to do this?,or best to get it done as age of the vehicle?
thank you in advance,
Andy.
would get it changed as soon as if you think it hasn't been changed. Although if itr was serviced at a main dealer I would have thought it would have been done. If it has the service book with it you will know where it's been serviced ring them up and ask them.
Replacing the cam belt is a relatively cheap job, part is very inexpensive but if it goes it will probably write off the engine so, given the mileage, I would say better be safe than sorry and get it done
