Trying to attach headphones to Panasonic TV but it has no earphone jack.!So obtained adapter of 2 RCA plug into female 3.5mm jack and tried the phono outlets. But now there is very faint sound from the headphones and no control over the volume of the headphones. The TV sound behaves as normal. Can someone tell me how to increase volume through the headphones and control the volume. Thanks all.

RCA outputs are line level outputs designed to be connected to an AMP, not to headphones, as such what you are hearing is expected and normal.

you need a headphone amplifier

I would also like to know about this, but my bedroom tv only has a scart, is there something I can do so as to be able to use headphones? Thank you!
2 RCAs are for connecting to an amplifier/speaker. They output around 1/5 volt which is insufficient to drive headphones directly. A small amplifier, with a volume control could drive almost any headphones - if it has a speaker connected, this would need to be disconnected, and phones connected in place, but via a resistor of 500 to 1000 ohms or so, to prevent the phones being overdriven. Do you have other audio gear that would accept an input from the RCAs, and may have a 'phones output?
