We have Sky+ HD and are due to get the updated Electronic Programme Guide soon (the letter arrived today). Can anyone tell me whether we have to have a phone line connected at all times to receive the update, or does it come in through the dish? We don't keep the line connected all the time at present because the socket doubler stops the phone from working. If a phone line is needed, can we connect temporarily every now and again and check for update manually?

Thanks a lot.

NO you don't need it connected to the television, it comes via satellite.

Our telephone box is at one side of our room and the TV is at the other side. We would have had to run a long cable across the middle of our floor to connect to the TV, so the engineer just plugged it in via long cable, and unplugged it when everything was set up!
