TV - Getting picture back !

Last night my son turned down the brightness and contrast so that now all i have is a dark picture meaning that i cannot view the menu to turn the settings back to normal.
Is there a way to reset the to default settings.
It's a Philips TV.Switching it on and off and unplugging hasn,t work.Really appreciate any ideas.
