'Is that thunder your end or mine'?
Ok, first off, it is sunshining through the window.

Also, who in the world videos their fella on the phone to a loan company? Would you really want video evidence of that?

Yes, I really should relax but these ads really get on my wick.

The version with the Geordie woman who's son can't find his scoooota is also pants. I mean, if I'd interrupted my parents when on the phone I'd have found my scooter inserted somewhere I would never lose it again.

Please, if you know who makes these ads, please go and slap them a lot.

It's his attitude to his wife that gets me;
"I'm on the PHONE!!!"
"Great!! Less paperwork for HER to fill out then!!"
Tw@t.
I know the one you mean. She casually asks her husband if 25,000 is ok and gets a quick thumbs up.

Jeez! I'd be bricking myself getting myself into that much debt.

Ive just been told the Geordie scooter ad was banned as she was implying that a five min call will get a 20k loan sorted! I never noticed that it hadnt been on lately...thats clever marketing, an advert that sticks in the mind!

Also, have you seen the size of the stereo in their house? No wonder they need 25k!!

see what you mean about his attitude.
They'll be divorced within a year.

I know its a pointless fact too but how are they going to sort out a loan if they don't even take their address or details?

I think we should spend our Wednesday afternoon picking faults with the cheesy, crap financial adverts. :)

DMSYMR,
It's been on recently as my g/f won't let me watch it any more due to me shouting at the telly when its on.

K
I LOVE that advert! I think it really captures the essence of the modern family. Everyone's kids lose scootaaaas, and most people can empathise with a middle aged Geordie woman.

It almost made up for the fact that they were charging me 19% APR on my 25,000 loan!!
I hate those adverts with a passion, they even followed up the fat footie fan with his smug looking neighbour, the one who has a face you could never get tired of punching.

And dont get me started on the 'Injury lawers 4 u' adverts, that horrible woman who say's "hoooooowwwww much would I have to paaaaaaaaaay upfront in saaaaaay a sighned credit agreement? Mr Henderson pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase remember where you are", I swear if she wasn't a woman I'd kick her scrawny butt
search for 'picture loans' on youtube there are some good parodies.
It's designed to look like a 'normal' family - although if you are smiling while you borrow twenty-five grand that is going to cost you forty-one thousand pounds to repay (all that gurning and thumbs-up twaddle is to distract you from the small print that is scrolling by as required by law) - then you are stretching the definition of 'normal' so far it's going to snap!
Question Author
Agggh!!!!
Injury lawyers 4u should be burned at the stake.

Is it them where they have the woman boxing in full makeup and without a drop of sweat on her?

And the statement that they are 100% Lawyers? Does that mean that the rest of them are 98% lawyers, 2% Electricians?

No sarnieken,
I mean the one where the Injury lawer 4 u guy is undergoing some king of polygragh (sp)? thing, and he's sitting there smiling and saying crap like 'that depends on the circunstaces' while he's having some kind of retina scan to see if he's telling the truth
I know the one you mean 4GS. It's a right load of tosh.
what is funny is the fact he is borrowing 25k but paying back almost 50k!! and he thinks it great! then ropes his neighbour into the same con!!
Question Author
Ah, 4GS. I know the one.
Interesting too considering that Polygraph tests require definite aswers to provide information.

Maybe I'm looking into this too much.

Ok, what other ads wind you all up?

Have just heard on the news about ITV and their phone-in scandals. Laughed my head off!!!
These posts have really made me laugh. I too hate these adverts with a passion. "You know those people at Picture are really nice people...you can have an adult conversation with them" "What, about football?!". What d!cks. And yes, that Injury Lawyers 4 U advert makes my blood boil. I'm trying to think of others that wind me up..., I know those Confused.com adverts - how many times does he say that? And Elephant.co.uk when they find a man in an elephant costume in the middle of a pretend jungle. ARGH!
The Halifax adverts are the ones that make me scream, whether it's the bloke, Howard or whatever his name is, or the woman. They must cost a fortune to make, poor banks, don't make much profit do they?!
An advert that used to really wind me up was the Chinese kid stuck on the toilet whining "it's all gone. it's all gone". His mum replies, "what's gone darling?" and he pushes a drawing of an air freshener (Kandoo) through the door gap.

Where did he get the pen and paper? and why didn't he just say so instead of drawing a picture? Stoopid kid.
why didn't he use the paper to wipe his *rse instead of writing on it??

Why has Barry Scott stopped SHOUTING??
OMG, you have all made me laugh out loud - I hate ALL of the adverts you have mentioned for the very same reasons!

The one my hubby hates is the AA car insurance one where she picks "THOMAAAAAAS" up from school, and the ignorant little scrot doesn't even acknowledge the businessmen sat in the back of the car. Doesn't he realise his mum got an online discount?

The bit that annoys me about the Injury Lawyers 4 U Ad is when he says "Nice tie" and the polygraph bleeps as if he is lying. Like I care what kind of chuffing tie they're wearing? Oh, the marketing lads at IL4U must be a blast.

And in the Picture Loans advert when he pretends to throw a ball in her face. Oh, yes, that's really funny that is. i'd burst the bloody thing if he tried that with me.
