'm the g/f to this boys dad, we gained custody 3 yrs ago. This child is 16, & I'm ready to pull my hair out. His dad is bein more of a friend than a dad. His dad hasn't been a part of his son's life for many yrs because of his mom (now in jail for not paying support). His son won't do anything round the house. Won't clean his room. Food, soda cans, clothes thrown everywhere, but when I speak up, I get put down by his dad. Son is doing poor in school, barely passing 2 classes out of 4. Has a computer in his room, with internet, with no blocks, & nights when I awake, I pick up the phone and he'll be online. I tell his dad and he doesn't believe me. Porn is a big interest in his son's life right now. I told his dad to check out his puter sometime. Dad didn't believe me until a virus arrived on his computer. His son refuses to take the trash out, refuses to do any chores around the house, always on the XBox, never does any homework. Since school, he hasn't pulled out a book. Always says, I did it in school. Then I write to his teachers, and they respond he hasn't handed in his homework. Brings girls into the house when we are @ work. Tell me someone, what can I do to prevent myself from suffering anymore? I'm trying to shut my mouth, This child stole his dad's chck. acct # to go to a porn site and was caught when we received our statement. He raised his mom's cable bill watching porn when he had visits with her, nearly $300. He's always losing his keys, bankcard, and relying on his dad for rides not even offering $5 for gas. He's going to be 17 in 3 months, you would think he would want to get his license. I'm baffled here. His dad needs to buckle down. Be more of a dad, then a Friend!!!
