>>> I'm not sure to what extent the UK promotes its entry abroad

Space Man reached No.3 in the Danish charts, with download records showing that it's had some popularity in Norway and Malta too.
The guy has a great voice and it’s the strongest UK entry for a long time I’d say

As i said earlier, i believe Ukraine will walk this. However, given the UK is second to none on the European stage when it comes to supporting Ukraine in their defence against the Russian invasion, perhaps some of the antagonism towards us over recent years may dissipate a tad. Enough, perhaps, for a top 5 finish?
It always surprises me how many people diss the contest but haven't watched it for 20 plus years!
Look if you don't like it - don't watch it simples but in the same way don't slate something you don't have a clue about!
I haven't watched it since it stopped being a song contest. For the last 30+ years it's been a popularity contest with the songs being largely irrelevant. Of Course Ukraine will win this time and I live in hope that we British are no longer the worst people in the world so I hope that we won't be last as usual! Though I assume Russia are banned so we might be!
i presume those who havent heard the british entry never listen to radio 2 - they play it every day at least twice!
I haven't listened to any of the songs, they are not relevant, it's not a song contest.
Ukraine will win and their song may even be worthy of that but we'll never know.
TTT why do you feel the need to respond to every post whether it interests you or not? Stick to the Bunter news.
//I haven't watched it since it stopped being a song contest. For the last 30+ years it's been a popularity contest with the songs being largely irrelevant.//
We have won it since then!
maggie - because he is a small man with big opinions!
it does interest me maggie, oh not the "song contest" but who supports who helps in all sorts of other areas.
redhelen; "We have won it since then! " - how is that relevant? I doubt it was down to the song. It was 1997 the height of Cool Britannia etc.
Of course it was nothing to do with the song - I did not realise that you were a music producer in your spare time!
so you really believe the song alone drives the voting redhelen? Right oh!
i don't see how you can know who supports who if you don't watch it? how does your interest in it manifest itself if you don't watch it. Even if they report on the news that, say, denmark won, how do you know who voted for whom unless you watched it?
Jeez you are as bad as the person you slate for having to have the last word!

And no I do not believe that the song is entirely sufficient in order to win the contest but that has been the case for the last 15 years not 30 plus as you state.
The song we last won was stonking and nothing to do with cool brittania as you claim!
bednobs: "i don't see how you can know who supports who if you don't watch it? how does your interest in it manifest itself if you don't watch it. Even if they report on the news that, say, denmark won, how do you know who voted for whom unless you watched it? " - I look up the voting after the event.
That was a good song by KATW and may well have been the best song but it would look very bias if I said it was only when we win the song deserved it. You'd be attacking me for that then!
Oh dry your tears - no one is attacking you!
