I'll tell you. People who ask a question in, say, Crosswords and then never return to the thread. Presumably having seen the answer here, elsewhere or worked it out for themselves.
It is a tiny minority, to be fair. But if there are different answers it'd be nice to find out which is the right one.

*Hate's a bit ott. Find mildly annoying.
Didn't put this in Crosswords because the pros don't like distractions or getting involved in 'controversy' and it probably happens in other categories.

I agree, saying a simple thank you is good manners Spicey
//Didn't put this in Crosswords because the pros don't like distractions//
very wise, someone would have asked for a letter count . . .

Agree with bobbi, a simple please and thank you off the few would be good.
I was somewhat miffed shortly after joining this site. A person had listed three crossword clues and asked for answers. Three of us replied, each giving one answer to each clue so the person got the three correct answers. They thanked the first and third person but not me.

Who said that?

And give a Best Answer when the clue / answer is parsed, always helpful in improving your skills.
Not only in Crosswords. Some on here go to some lengths to answer a question or offer advice and often there is nothing to show the poster of the question has returned to the question

I didn't want to make it about thanks but to be honest that bugs me too. Plus, I've been stuck on 70 stinking BA's for years. I seem to have an unerring knack of only getting right answers for people who never award BA's. Spect that's why the pro's leave them for me to answer.
bugs me when they post saying they've got the answer but don't share :-)

I agree. Some sort of acknowledgment that the OP is still there and appreciates the responses is always good. I think it’s a bit different with BA’s though because if someone has asked for example 3 questions as in Vulcan’s post and 3 different people respond with an answer for each how can you give a BA? Probably easier in discussions.
Absolutely aelmplw. Now that is my hate!

That happens suspiciously often, Vulcan.

These 'good manners' were beaten into all our generation. Do you think it might be, looks around furtively, the younger generation. (who must never be criticised on here)
That and the nit pickers :)))))
aww spicerack, I've just given you BA on the only q I have that you have answered -
ps I didn't know the yourger generation were not to be criticized on AB. I hate to tell you this but it happens all the time

Spicerack, I'm not sure where the fault lies, I've experienced bad manners from all ages, I sometimes think the fault lies with me as I'm often ignored in shops. I've lost count of the times, waiting in a queue only to see the assistant leave when it's my turn. The most annoying occasion was when I paid for an item and the assistant then saw a friend and went off to chat, eventually returning to give me the change. :o)
Vulcan said assistant should be pulled in for that, that's atrocious
ABers not replying....get used to it.
Silly, inappropriate BA.........get used to them. I have been on a crusade against BA's for a decade now and I have at least achieved the abolition of some and particularly one ABer ameliorating their boasting concerning BA's.

Good luck with any campaign.

Who's boasting now?
